Review: It's Potent! Eye Cream by Benefit | Makeup application

As promised in my review of Benefit's new skincare line, here are my thoughts on the It's Potent! eye cream. This product is supposed to fade dark circles, help smooth fine lines and hydrate the (under) eye area.

I'll start with the <good> part: it really does help with the dark circles! I should say that my dark circles are not too dark to begin with, and the difference was not dramatic, but it was definitely there. </good>

Now on to what I did not like. Honestly, I did not find this cream to be nourishing or hydrating at all. It did not feel drying either, but a few hours after I applied it, something made me want to wash it off. Also, I am very sensitive to the scent of alcohol (the main reason behind my not drinking), and I thought I could smell a hint of it from It's Potent. I checked the list of ingredients and sure enough, alcohol was on it! I am not a chemist, so normally I don't even read what's in my skincare/makeup, but alcohol in an eye cream does not sound right. 

I would say that this product is worth checking out if you have a major problem with dark under eye circles, but you might want to a) get a sample before you buy full size; b) apply a more hydrating/nourishing eye cream on top of it. Personally, I will not be purchasing the full size product, even though the brightening effect was the best I have ever seen from an eye cream.

RATING:  I am not even sure how to rate this... 10/10 for brightening, but 5/10 overall
