MAC Mineralize Charged Water Moisture Eye Cream - Peaches Choi

I'm 23 and have hereditary dark circles and fine lines that have deepened over the last couple of years. I started using eye creams at 21 when I started my PGCE and had lots of late nights and early starts and my eyes were always puffy and wrinkled looking. I have used many eye creams since then including at least 2 different types from the Body Shop, one from Boots, Strivectin, xtend life, L'Occitane and the list goes on.

The last cream I used was one from L'Occitane which I initially loved but I found it stopped being useful after about 3 months. It was also unappealing under my makeup and would cause my concealer to flake off or congeal sometimes.

Thus I decided to try my first ever MAC skincare item. I told myself I would steer clear of MAC this year considering all the duds I purchased this year but there were so many positive reviews for this online I decided to give this a whirl.

Here's the lowdown from the MAC website:

A luxuriously rich eye cream. Infused with our ionized Super-Duo Charged Water technology. Moisturizes and adds radiance, while instantly - and over time - reducing the look of dark circles, lines and puffiness.

It's £24.50 for for 15ml. This will be expensive to many people but most eye creams generally are on the pricier side these days.

I've been using the product for about 2 months so far, morning and night, and it has been acceptable but nothing remarkable.

Packaging is pretty sleek and sophisticated but many will be put off by the fact it comes in tub form so those with germ phobia will hate the idea of sticking fingers in there. It didn't bother me too much as I always put on my face creams after having washed my face and hands anyway but I would still prefer a squeeze tube.

I like the texture and consistency of the cream as it feels light enough to be absorbed quickly but not so light it's watery, which makes it a fine base for makeup. I also like the fact it has no strong scent.

So did it help with my puffy eyes? I think yes, just a tad, but not on a very noticeable level.

Did it help with my dark circles? Yes but again, just a little bit. I can see a change but no one else can.

Did it help with my fine lines? No, not all.

Overall this seems like an OK cream to me - it wasn't so bad I regret buying it but I didn't feel it made a significant enough improvement to my under eye area to justify repurchasing it. I can see why some people think this works for them and I guess if you have good skin to begin with this may be enough, but for those with lines under eyes especially I wouldn't really recommend it.
